A Hansel and Gretel Retelling

There are two kinds of monsters, my dear. The worst of which lives inside you.

When a string of children disappear from Saoirse’s village, she alone suspects the beast lurking in the Wild Wood beyond the summer goddess’s temple.

Her worst fears are realized when her beloved brother is taken. Desperate to save him, Saoirse ignores warnings of loved ones and ascends the dark stairs of the Faerie Hill, only to find that a necromancer witch with unfathomable powers has stolen a fragment of Dafydd’s soul, leaving him as little more than an empty shell.

Determined to make him whole again, Saoirse must summon all her courage to enter Áine’s gate and navigate the treacherous labyrinth of madness beyond. But when Edred—her best friend and the unspoken desire of her heart—follows her into peril, Saoirse faces a cruel dilemma: how to save both her brother and the boy she loves from the forces determined to tear them apart.

In a world of magic and monsters, Saoirse’s courage and cunning is tested as she fights to protect the people who mean everything to her—before it’s too late.

My Story

I am an American author who currently lives in northern Virginia with my husband, three sons, and two cats. Married to a military man, I have had the great opportunity to move often and fall in love with people of all walks of life. My works merge multiple genres, featuring elements of historical fiction, romance, fantasy, and adventure. I have been a public educator - specifically a teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing - for most of my career but have dabbled in creative writing my entire life. Outside of writing, I also enjoy gardening, painting, kayaking, and spending quality time with my family.
